LIM 17 Months

Here we go again. God dam LIM gasket is gone again. I only replaced it back on Feb 22 2003 - only 17 months ago. I started noticing oil spray on the under side of the engine hood and upon further investigation, the LIM is leaking oil. My Low Coolant light started coming on as well. Once I replace it this time, car is going for sale. I love the car but it's a dam money pit. I baby this car and all it gives me is grief. Can someone please provide me with the part number for the LIM gasket if you have it. You know the supposed new and improved one.

After 17 months?! What the.... This is a long shot, but when u had it done last time, was any warranty given on it? Also, how much mileage have u put on it in the last 17 months, just outta curiousity.

17 months?? by the sounds of it, it wasn't installed right

I'll have to check when i get home how many clicks since it's been replaced. No warranty since I did it myself.....so I'm pretty confident that it was done right. I've replaced several of these in the past with no problems, however this was my first 3.4. All the others were on 3.1's while replacing push rods, lifters, etc. Is it true that there is a new, updated gasket?

Yes, there is. It has black rubber instead of blue, and has some metal parts in it. Call your local dealer. Price is around $55.

Serious...had mine replaced Jan. 2003. Shit's leaking again after 12,500 miles...bastard ass gaskets.

After checking, I've put 27000 Kms on it in the last 17 months.
