I have always used the goo-gone with great results. Goo-gone has some stuff now in an aerisol can that seems to work alittle bit better than the original can. So maybe that would help some?

just keep at it....maybe try some rubbing compound as well, the stuff you use b4 you wax the car.But just keep at it,try and make sure your out where the sun can help heat it up to,makes it nice and melty like. Some peoples just takes more time then others.

I used carb-cleaner to take the residue off of mine, just make sure you wipe all of it off afterwards, and wax soon after, or you may be saying bye bye to your paint

Has anybody considered either bug&tar remover or even acetone? I remember over 20 years ago when my father went to his property in the country, they had decided to oil the dirt roads the one night and we had a nice surprise when we woke up! So when we got home, we were using acetone to remove the oil that was stuck to the car.

If you can get yourself some Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK), then use that as it is stronger. It dissolves cyanoacrylate esters, aka Super Glue, like it was not even there. Acetone will do the same thing, but it is not as strong as MEK.

But like others suggest, wax the area IMMEDIATELY after application of the solvent.

We did it with Goo-Gone at Albany and it worked like a charm.

Goo Gone works wonders. If you don't have any available, a little gasoline on a rag works just as good. No matter what you use be sure to immediatly rinse the area well and follow up with some wax.
