I purchased a used a 2000 Grand Am GT with 39000 miles on it in May. The suspension seems to be really rough when driving at speeds under 35 mph. It rattles with every bump in the road- minimal or large. The dealership has had it twice and they say nothing is wrong with it and thats how the ga rides. I only have a 3 mon/3,000 mile warrenty. If something is wrong with it, I want to get it repaired under the warrenty. Any suggestions? Any information? Thanks for your help!

It may be the way it rides if you've never owned a vehicle with low profile tires . Because of their short stiff sidewall they don't absorb the bumps as well . The Grand Am GT has a sporty ride as well , it sort of suits the kind of driver who may like that kind of car . The SE may have the sort of smoother ride you want . :)

I've had Gramd Am GTs before....a 95 and a 98. The 95 was fine but the 98 had the rough ride, but the suspension was jacked up. I just wanted to be sure nothing is wrong with my new car. I waited a long time to buy this car and didn't like the appearance of the SE. Thanks for your response!

my 2000 SE rides pretty rough, but it has the 16" rims with 225 50ZR16's on it, so that's likely why. When I got it it had some 20560r16's on it and they rode better... but messed with the speedo and handled like crap.

Tell them you want to drive a similar car (IIRC a new GA would have the same tires/suspension). If the ride on the new car is better have them tell you why. If it is the same then I guess they are correct.
