there is a ticking/clicking noise coming from the front drivers side wheel....

......changed pads and then heard the noise afterwards...dont know if it was there before cause of wear indicators making noise.

.............rechecked the pads and everything and i noticed the rotor isnt holding steady, its got some play to it, and the piston in the caliper has a chip (pretty small) in it looking like the mechanic applied too much pressure to it.

.............also, held the tire at 9 and 3 and it has some play also. so , where do i begin??? the noise is noticable beginning at 20 mph and increases with wheel speed.

IF that isnt it.. just jack the car up and rotate the tires.. do you still hear it? Then grab the the tire at 12 and 6 and shake to see how the ball joint is... When you rotate the tire... does is spin easily or does it grind? if so take of the wheel and try just spinning the hub.. could be possible your balljoint is acting up or your bearings....
