I have a 4 door and planning to get front sides 35 percent and rear sides/back glass 15 percent. Does anyone have this setup? Will I have trouble seeing at night with 15 percent? I still wanna see when I do blind check.

I ran 15percent on mine and at night sometimes you have a hard time seeing if people dont have there lights on or if you are on a dark road. But the 15 looks so nice and you can see fine during the day and can always crack the windows at night.

You should be able to see very well at night with 15%. I have 5% all the way around my car and I can see somewhat good at night. The only problem I have with seeing is that if there is no outside lights, i.e. street lights or other cars, then I can't see squat outside. But I have gotten so used to it that I don't care or pay much attention to that anymore. 15% should not be that bad at all.

I have 5% on the back 3 and 30% on the front two. I can see fine at night out the sides but if there are no lights around and the area is total dark around my car i have trouble seeing out the back window. I have gotten used to using my mirrors to see at night. You can check out my car domain site on page 3 with my updated pics.

Ok, I have a 4 door, as I said. Should I go with same percentage all around or have rear darker?

the rear being darker than the front is really a personal opinion. some will say it looks stupid, but unless you have dramatically different percentages of tint the average person won't be able to tell a difference.
i'd go with 15% all the way around, 35 is too light IMO. my fiance has 18% all the way around with 35% on the windshield and she can see almost as good at night as she can during the day. just get quality film and you shouldn't have a problem :)

I'm at 15% and 3% .. only have been stopped once for it, looks nice, at night like everyone else if there are no lights, its hard to see things without hitting the button to lower the window. Check with your local tinting shops to find out the legal tint specs in your area. In Clovis where I just left, cops were carrying around tint meters and razors, giving the option to either remove it or goto jail. Funny thing about Clovis NM though, sound violation ticket is 345.00 and 1 night in jail, and doing 60 in a 20 is only 147.00 ... I still think that is odd

the sound violation is a pile of :shit:. that's rediculous. sounds like some of the BS tickets they've been handing out here lately. they're not a little harsh are they??? taking you to jail if you don't remove your tint? they'd find great humor in me. i paid $200 for my tint job....be damned if im gonna rip it off because barney and his one bullet wants me to.
i was riding with a guy one day and his windshield is tinted. the cop couldn't really tell if it was tinted or not......he knew it was too dark to NOT be tinted, but he couldn't feel the edge of the tint. he tried to get the guy to take a pocket knife and scrape it across the windshield to see if it was tinted. the guy told him he wouldn't do it.....the cop didn't do anything but get mad. dont' know the importance of that......just reminded me of it when i read they could take you to jail :D

On the edge of your windshield about 4 or 5 inches down from the top there is the as1 line. that is an indicator that you can't tint or put graphics and ect below that line.

Ill never tint my windshield anywhere I go... thats just asking for trouble at night because more than likely, everything else around on your windows is tinted dark.

yeah, it's illegal here too. and having it tinted isn't as bad as you think as long you dont put like 5% on it. i've got 45% on mine (or something close to it, i dont remember) and 35% on emily's. night driving isn't an issue. i have more trouble seeing out my back glass than my windshield
