1993 auto shifter

hey, i did a search for this and found nothing for this year, and tried using the suggestion for years close and no luck. im trying to remove the shifter knob from my 1993 se, an automatic, how do you get it off, any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

LOL i was wondering the same thing... im gonna be pulling mine off today.. i will let ya know... in the haynes says pull up or unscrew... so i would assume pull up for an auto but i will see

well im not taking mine off to change it, im trying to get the carpeting off. for some reason my whole floor under the carpeting is soaked. im able to get most of the carpet up except for around the console and i got it free except for the damn shift knob. so right now my interior is completely gone so as soon as someone knows something please help me. thanks a lot

on the shifter twards the front of the car there should be a little Staple shaped clip. pry that out and it will pull right off.

Yup just as "92CamaroRS" said mine was on there pretty good but i just yanked up hard... and well i kinda punched myself in the face but thats it...
