The only thing between the fuel pump and the fuel rail and I am experiencing engine shut down due to no fuel. It occures mostly going uphill, about 20-30 mins of running the engine shuts down. When i crack the fuel input at the rail i get a few bubles then steady fuel. (the fuel rail seems to be getting excessively hot to the touch)

Thanks for the help.

?? did you see it should only go on one way ??

Not picken on ya, it's just a question a lot of people don't know. They are designed to work with the gas flowing through one way.

Lot's of times they fail becuase some crap has sucked up against the screen. When the motor dies or is shut off the suck stops and the crap falls back down. So when you turn the key it will fire back up till the crap gets stuck up on the screen again.

Possibly a failing fuel pump or the FP relay. Does it start right up or do you have to wait till it cools?

You should have fuel returning to the tank thru the fuel pressure regulator at the end of the fuel rail. The returning fuel should cool the rail and prevent the bubbles you're seeing. I would check that before dropping the tank.

right now i cant start it. i have even tried to bypass the relay with a jumper wire right to 12v.

what are the steps to check the fuel pressure regulator?
