My '95 GT has the white rims. Since the car is nearly 10 years old (but still kickin') the rims look a little tired.

I was looking at some of the pics from this forum, and I really like the 5-spoke silver rims on the newer GT's.

My question: Are MY rims and the new GT rims the same size? I use slightly plus-sized tires as it is because I have FINALLY found a tire I like....but the rims....years and years of brake dust and road debris have taken their toll.

I just don't wanna spend $1000 on a new set of rims for this car, as I do not know how much longer it'll stay alive (although I try like hell to keep her running, as my wife really likes it for some reason)

U can go upto 1998 Grand Am rims. 1999 + are a bigger size rim. I hope this helps u out.

By wrong size I assume everybody means the bolt pattern - on GAs up to 1998 the bolt spacing was 5x100mm, from 99 up it was 5x115mm. You should also consider checking offset - if you stay w/ factory wheels, it won't be as much of an issue as it can be w/ aftermarket sets.

yeah...im planning on staying with factory wheels.

I just dont know all the specs on them. The rims from the 98's are what I was looking at getting.

seeing as your rims are aluminum you can polish them. i think that would make it look better. if you want a How-To on polishing them i can give ya one.

they're painted white to match my car. I'd have to have them repainted.

they DON'T have to be repainted. all you would have to do is sand the white paint off. which really isnt that much more work as you need to sand them anyway if you want to polish them
