did this led work for tony... we put in 6 LED"s in the upper grove that come on w/ the blinker, the lower groove has 3 led's in it for the parking lights (he is blacking out the amber w/ paint) so it looks pretty sexy... there'll be a few picts.. so be patient!

looks good, would like to see some day pics to see what it looks like during the day :)

That's pretty clever. I did that in my rear reverse lights. The only problem is that with both bulbs hooked up on each side (so it doesn't blink fast) the LEDs are dim and you can't see them. Know how to get around that????

They dont call you Magyver for nothin'. That looks good, good idea, ive been stewing around about what to do with those two worthless grooves.

what did you wire up there? single led's or r u using the whole 194 socket as the blinker and not a backup anymore?

Looks good, but I would have either done it all a parking light or all a directional.
The front shot reminds me of my '92 Z28 when I had red lights in the ground effect vents. I didn't plan on them being as visable as they were but it looked pretty mean. My main intensions where just for the red glow coming from the vents.
Keep up the good work.

I have 2 sets of 7 LEDs wired in parallel on each side (I think, I cannot remember exactly) that are drilled in around the back up bulb. You can see the pictures of my work on my website http://home.comcast.net/~porsche_chic/index.html I have them wired to my rear blinkers on each side. They do blink, but VERY VERY dim. They are only bright when I have one blinker bulb hooked up but then they blink really fast. I need to know how to get around that.
Here is one pic... the others are on the site...

so you have 7 led's, and each led has a resistor on it? and you have them all wired together in parallel, then like wire nutted together and 2 pigtails coming off of that to yoiur blinker? if thats the case, and each led has a resistor, then they should blink normal brightness, what color wire do you have them tapped into? is it at the harness? i believe the center one is ground, and what is the blinker? i will look tonight...
oh, and by 2 sets of seven, u mean 7 for parking and 7 for blinker right?

I have 7 wired together in parallel with no resistor and the two sets are pig tailed together. I don't remember which wire, I believe it's the light blue one on the blinker harness if I am not mistaken. They do blink, just not at full brightness unless I disconnect one bulb from that circuit... then they go crazy.
I have 2 sets of 7.... all 14 on each side are for the blinkers only.
Okay, let me draw you a picture of what I have...

ok, first of all, when you say you disconect one bulb, is that an led from your daisy chain or r u talking about a 3157 stock blinker bulb? and according to your pict, they are wired in series... 7 in series so they must be about 2.04V a piece? (running V is 14.4 avg) so 14.4 / 7 = 2.057V so, my advice to you w/ out having the circuit in front of me is to take one led out of the series and see what happens... it sounds like theres too many on the circuit so there not getting there recommneded V... and honestly, resistors (parallel) is the best way to go... alot eaiser to troubleshoot but more time consuming to wire... anyways, holla back...

When I say disconnect one bulb I mean one 3157.
And yes, I meant series, I get those mixed up all the time.
And you want me to wire each bulb with its own resistor? What a pain in the butt. I will try taking one bulb out of each series and see what happens.

do it real quick like, dont let it on for a while, make sure there not getting to bright.. ya know what im sayin? and yes, resistor per led is the safest way... he he

Yeah, I know it is... but what a major pain. And yes, I know what you mean.... so I don't fry the LEDs.

its easiest to just do 1 resistor in the incoming line and then wire them in paralell

as long as it can handle the power, you have to use a decent size powered resistor w/ 14 led's on it.. id say at least a 5W..
