Okay, so while I sit here just dreaming of my car, and ideas of things to do to it, I started to toy with the idea of a shaved fuel door, and putting it behind a tail light. I figure this would take some actual body shop work and not something I'm going to be able to do on my own, but what do you guys/gals think? Would it be worth it?

worth it if you go out and do it ALL and your in it for the show not daily driver deal. Do it all or do none: shave door handles, trunk lock, antenna and fuel door and it would be worth it.

I disagree as sometime 'all' is 'too much' :(

I might be able to help here.
"Shaving" is basically removing in favor of having nothing but smooth body panels. Like with the door handles, you'd get a remote/keyless entry system, remove the door handles, and finish with filling in/smoothing out the area where the handles were. Hope that explains it!

Awsome! Thanks for the replay.
Sounds expensive... anyone have pics of this done?? Depending on how this looks and the cost I would be interested in getting a few things "shaved" off my car.

it would definitely look good; our fuel doors are big and gay, and mine doesn't close all the way anymore...all the reason to grab a welder and go to town.

Fuel door = awesome idea.
I'd go for the trunk lock too (I never use mine).

Yes, I would end up moving it behind a tail, looks like almost everyone says its a good idea, so gives me something to get into

well I talked it over with my wife, and she agrees with shaving the fuel door, and I asked her about the trunk lock as well, and she figures that if would be better to leave that one alone incase our batteries die in our keyless/door popper entry, so we could have a secondary popper there. Any thoughts or ideas for a back up location? because I really like the idea of a shaved trunk lock as well.

When you do this you basically just have to me more aware of the battery(if its well charged) and make sure the door popper cables are fine,my friends accord(look in my previous post^) he had one door popper cable snap and he had to get into one of his rear doors.Plus to now I think the whole system is starting to go bad because the other day he used his keyless entry to unlock and the remote for the poppers and it didn't do anything but unlock the locks....Its just something that gives your some risks along with some possitive parts as well.I love the look of it all,but for me,if risks out weigh things I re-think what I want,or think about it more.

Wow, sorry to bring up and old post, but I just wanted to say that mine doesn't close all the way now either. Looks like the black sealer (or whatever it is) inside has shrunk from the cold and now the plug wont reach the hole anymore and it just hangs out. This prevents the door from closing all the way.
I'm just going to cut it off.

i say sheve it all. or shave something. im a fan of shaving stuff. my blazer is almost completely shaved. put it this wat the only things not shaved are my corner lights, bumber bolts, and cowl pannel :D GA will be shaved in the near future. i want to shave that stupid "groove" in the door. i need to find a shope that does gfood metal work. i want a piece welded in there so there are no cracking. the door handles, gas door, and trunk i should be able to do myself :D

What it ended up being one mine was the cable between the fuel door and the actual gas cap. Mine snapped off from the fuel door one day, and then I went ahead and pulled it off the gas cap, too. Now the door closes all the way. :) Woohoo. I still wanna shave it, though.

When shaving the fuel door, the filler location has to be moved. Some people put 'em behind the taillight (which they obviously have to then hinge) or just in the trunk. It depends on how clean you want the install to look.
