Okay, so here I am working steadily for the last 5 hours on my mother inlaws 96 GA to do the Angel Eye foglights, followed the instructions, well.. after 30mins of baking the foglights, I still have had no luck at softening the glue. So I jumped it up to 300 degrees and still no luck.. waiting for it to cool down now, and go ahead and dremel it.. Anyone else have problems doing the fog lights?

you can buy Hella's Angel Eye fogs from Pep Boys. They run $60 a set.

VERY big improvement over the stockers. They are MUCH brighter, and the lense is glass instead of plastic.

the catch? Took me damned near all day to drill the holes and adjust them properly....but its WELL worth the effort IMO.

i got the hella ones from pfyc.com and it only took a few hours to install...and yes they are brighter than shit compared to the stock crap

I finally gave up on trying the DIY method on the fogs, sure it was a good idea while it lasted, but my mother inlaw handed me her credit card and told me to order the ones from PFYC as her husband was throwing a rant about how the seal was broken on the fog light I was trying to open. She figured that since the fog from a junk yard was going to cost 35.00 why not just get two brand new ones for 62.00 .. no sweat off my back, plus it allows me to see what kinda install job, and what they will look like first hand before I do them to my car :) .. So I guess everyone wins in this situation.

Here's a How To on modifying the brackets.

Well the project took a total of 4 hours, 3 if you don't count me having to wait for a welder to spot weld. I've taken some pics of them, on and off, and of where I put the switch for them. Once they get developed, I'll post them up.

For a bit of advice, when doing these on the 96, you have two mounting brackets that do not match the ones in any of the diagrams I have seen online. Instead of taking off the entire front cover to drill four holes for the Angel Eye mounts, I opted to have them welded onto the old mounts and they fit beautifully. I wish I would have remembered to take pics of that as well. But its all said and done, and they look great, infact now I'm talking to my mother inlaw to get some silverstars because the fogs are brighter than her headlights . Just can't wait to do these on my 01. :)

They fit fine on the SE front fascia, but on the GT they ailign poorly with the openings in the fascia. Gotta redrill the bracket mount holes and add spacers to make it look right.
