I am a MOtor head I am all about the Real power V8 Power. So when I got a 4 banger I know that I would save money but I still miss the Power that make you remeber to put your seat belt on. Does anyone have any helpful hints to adding big power to my little engine without frying the heads with NOS:???:

from what ive been hearing the ecotec can take quite a beating, you could prolly slap on a 50 or 75 shot if nitrous with no problems... well... the motor might get pissed off it you consistently dump 75 into it... you could put a turbo on and safely run it to, here, this might helphttp://www.saunalahti.fi/olkinuor/ecotec.html
i guess it can take quite a bit of nitrous, but thats not the way i would go... slap a turbo on there and run it at 200-220 ponies, that should keep you happy

yeah I'm not a big fan of sprayn. Turbo's the way to go, supercharger is too expensive for me

I agree expecially with how the Ecotec was built. Superchargers are too expensive and stuff can do wrong

Well i know a guy that installed an 85shot of ZEX to his Ecotec powered Cavalier Z24 and rund mid-low 13's.

I myself when the car is all paid off am gonna have all the internals replaced with stronger units, 125shot of nitrous and add a T3 turbo and run it at about 15-19psi.

that sounds like a good enough idea. I personally dont like nitrous. But thats just me:D

Hey thanks everyone its nice to know that there are other people out there that's not big on NOS. LIke I said in the beginning I'm old school. And of you ask the old guy they say, "you build the engine right you don't need NOS." Which if you think about it... they are right?

Its just like selling your mom:eileen: (using NOS) to make money:penny:(speed) . If you was doing right from the beginning you would have a J-O-B :angel1: (good engine) and wouldn't need to sell your mom :heather:(us NOS) .:2up:

I say go with a turbo charger on it, I've heard that almost any turbo charger will work with it with a few mods. I also know that GM is making a turbo charger for the ecotec engine, there puting it in the new pontiac solstice(I think thats how its spelled). But its 4400 dollars. Thats way to much money for a turbo. The engine can take one hell of a beating its even possible to get the engine up to 700 HP with only a few mods.

Like i said in another thread Twistec is also producing a Turbo for the Ecotec engine no pricing has been released yet. I thoght the solstice was getting supercharged like the Saturn Red Line ION.

You are correct I was wrong on the solstice it is supercharged, however, a turbo charger by GM is in the works. No word on when it will be released tho.

The only reason I know that is because I follow Saturn very very close and I know that the Red Line ION is using the 2.0L Ecotec (From Opel)with a supercharger and that the Sky Concept was to use the same system (the solstice and sky are on the same platform or will be i should say).

That doesnt surprise me that GM is. Its another way for them to make money. So I completly believe you. I just know nothing about that. I do know about the superchargers though.
