View Full Version : turbo?
Do they make a turbo or a supercharger for this engine? And if so where I can I find one for this car:???: IF so what other car would have one that I could interchange with my car to make it work:???:

Get in touch with the people at eXploited Racing - I believe that they're developing (or already have developed) a system for the ECOTEC engine. The link can be found here: http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=197
Hey thinks ever one I found the supercharger, but my pocket still isn't that deep yet unless some can help me get about four G's.
Don't worry one day I well be posting my 1/4 mile times.

Why was my post editted? How was it "spam?" I've typed so many links out over the past few months it's just easier to point them to a site with the links and information for many other parts.
All it was was a link to Aleroupgrades that has a list of parts available for the Ecotec, something that GAUpgrades doesn't have. Yet GAUpgrades is plugged in a large number of post on the forums and not editted out. :???:

... I don't remember EXACTLY what you posted but it wasn't just a simple "take a look at this" like what is typically done ... I can assure you that it was nothing personal though ... to be blunt and honest, the continual redirection of our members to other sites (regardless of what it is) instead of simply providing the information directly on our forums sometimes gets quite overwhelming and I may have over reacted so I apologize ... as you should already know, it is GAOC's standard practice NOT to limit what people can talk about or restrict what they can look at, but like I said, when this happens on a continual basis I tend to wonder why I spend all the money to keep this site running when everyone can simply go elsewhere ... anyway, please feel free to continue and 'promote' the various 'other sites' but it would be appreciated if sometimes the required details could just be posted within the thread itself :) ... thanks for you understanding.

Just curious, supercharger or turbocharger. The engine is so small the supercharger would probably rob it of a lot of power. I'm assuming that it revs fairly well so I think that a turbo would work well. What is it with GM and superchargers anyway. They are coming out with a supercharger for the 2.2 and have the GTP. Why not use a turbo. Could it be because of it's reliability? They used a turbo in the Grand National and that's is one of the best cars they ever made.

From what I have understood is that the engine is very well suited for a turbo...I dont really no why GM didnt go that route but I believe it has something to do with long term maintenence and reliability of the turbo vs the superchargers they already know how to produce a good supercharger system but probably lack in the turbo market.

Please. A month later and you don't even have a clue what it was all about. It was NOT redirecting anyone to a site with another forum, nor is it a site where I sell anything. It was directing them to a site with a listing of available turbos/SC's for the Ecotec along with every other part available for the Ecotec. It was just easier putting one link to the site instead of putting a bunch of links to the sites with all the parts. ?comprende?
