I just dropped my car off at the shop and they said their gonna keep it for about 3 days. I'm getting the new spoiler painted and installed and I also told them to shave the keylock on the trunk. I'm pretty excited. Has it been three days yet!? Damn it, nope...only 20 minutes.
Stay tuned for pics..........

Now remember, sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me. :D I love this wing with the AAS kit and with the AAS kit ONLY! I would never even dream of putting it on a car without the kit or a car without the curves of the GA. Let the hating begin!

yea,Xidion already has the same wing....Hey Mike, are you still going with having the top tier panted to match your rims? I forget what your decision was on that one post you did about it being done....Can't wait for pics! Still love the way your GA looks without that spoiler. The SC/T spoiler would look good with that kit.

Wow, your car is going to look just like mike's car (GO Grand Am (guy that had his car on AAS for a long time)) minus the molding.

He has the same one i got but when i orderd mine they sent me the more expensive one with the LED break light so hey. im not mad :) wish i had the SC/T one thought. And btw your trunk wont open in the car now. You will have to put the key in turn it and lift on it.

I don't think my car looks like ANYONES car here. Same wing, same kit, but what else is the same? I'd say besides the two I just mentioned, no one elses is like mine.

What do you mean by this? I have a trunk pop on my alarm keychain. I also just bought a new alarm, the Viper 791XV. From what I read about this alarm, it owns. Gonna get that installed in about 2 weeks...

he means the wing is too heavy on the trunk for it to lift by itself....

Ahh...I see what he means.
Well I have good news and even BETTER news! I called this morning when I got out of work at 8:30am to ask the guy a question. Before I can even ask, he tells me my car is all set to be picked up! Damn I was souped. Man, I love it! As for the trunk not opening up by itself, he's right. It does pop, I just have to go lift it up. Which isn't a problem for me. I actually prefer it that way incase, who knows, I accidently hit my trunk on my alarm keychain. No one will even know it's opened.
These pics are quick. It's like 90 degrees out and I'm tired as all hell. I won't be back on til around 6ish tonight when I wake up. Feel free to let me know what you think. Like I said tho...I absolutely love it. Better pics will come over the weekend when I wax her up. :)

shaved lock looks smooth

yeah the shaved locks was the best part of the whole deal. The wing is alright and ill leave it at that.
Its nothing against you or your car at all, but i dont like body kits for one reason they have a diffrent texture to them or something than the stock body panels and you can REALLY tell it. Your car is very glossy then you look at your kit and the paint is glossy but the texture is diffrent which makes the paint look more flat than the cars paint.
Im really paticular and that really bugs the heck out of me. I dont think its as bad in person, but you can still see it if you look close enough and im one of those guys that look close enough.

Thats not a result of it having a body kit, that would be the result of quick or crappy prep/paint work. A little more time sanding and smoothing new body panels would help. But the best way would to be to reshoot the entire vehicle so all the primer/prep work is the same from panel to panel.

Man. I have to say that is the sleekest, most cool looking Grand Am I have never seen. Now you've definently convinced me to get my cousins grand am painted silver for his birthday. It looks really awesome on the 99-up grand am.
As for the shave and that wing. I think they fit perfectly! You must work alot of hours overnight to have gotten the car the way it is. And it really shows all the hard work you have put into it, congrats! That is just so tight. You've got me hyped!

Hey, thanks LMH. I was really picky when picking out parts that I wanted to use. I wanted it look look perfect and for everything to flow together nicely. I didn't want it to look like I slapped some rims on, then I slapped a kit on, then I slapped some new tails on...etc. I wanted everything to compliment everything else and so far, I'm extremely happy with they way it turned out.
Thanks for the replies.

Very Nice. I've seen that spoiler a lot on Ebay and in magazines and shit... and I thought it looked ugly.. and it would look even worse on a GA. I was wrong though, the curve in the wing and the curve in the rear bumper kinda accent each other. it looks real good.. I might get that one.. and since you live in FL and I live in Maine.. and you got a 2003 and I got a '96. I don't think a matching spoiler would be too big a deal. It looks real nice though, you have a nice car man.

The spoiler does look great, especially w/ the body kit. I appreciate the fact that you put so much time & thought into the appearance of your car.

I couldn't agree more! I had the same problem but in the other direction! I painted my hood, deck lid & new spoiler last year & my paintjob makes the factory paint look like a$$! I shot PPg dbc & dbu 2002 clear w/ my Sata & baked it @ 160 & it's smoother than the factory job. - This also goes to prove that you don't have to wetsand & rub everything to make a nice paintjob. Just takes experience, patience & good quality materials.:)
mikenice - you didn't wax that new paint already did you??? If you did your really pushing the envelope. you should let it sit a good 30 days before that. You can ruin new paint by waxing right away & at the least, permanetly dull it to a certian degree. Also, don't let it sit in direct sunlight w/ anything on it. Not even rain drops.
