when i brake the my headlights dim. for example at at red light, or pulling into my garage. is my alt dying?

possible, or your battery could be, or the wires are crossing, or you are just pulling to much power, OR don't worry about it until something actually is wrong. Mine does that all the time. and it is just usual Honestly (for mine anyhow).














If it's not broke, don't fix it!
If you broke it and didn't get caught, blame it on someone else.
If someone saw you break it, deny the whole thing and call them a damn liar, and say i saw him/her break it!

This could be normal depending on how many things you have running at the time. If you have your rear defroster running during this time then you probably have nothing to worry about.

i had my full lights on, fan running at 3 and my stero on (at low volume)

... my thoughts too ... how slow is your car idling?? Maybe it is lower the rated speed for the alternator ... take a volt meter and check the output at idle and 'reved up a little' :)
