The spoiler on my car looks horrible. It looks like the clear coat is coming off. Anyway I was thinking about taking it off and sanding it and priming it myself with some spray paint primer and then buying the black GM spray paint you can get at wal mart and then clear coating it with some more spray can stuff. Do you guys think this is a mistake? Should I just take it to a shop? How much could I expect to pay and if I went to the shop I would have my back bumper painted aswell(I let my father drive my car one time and he brings it back with huge scrapes on the bottom of the bumper....). What do you guys think?

By the time you spend all the money on the sandpaper, paint, clear coat, you would have more in it than a body shop would charge you to paint it. Check around you will be surprised.

OMG not spray paint again, come on people. :nono:

How much more ghetto can you get? Do it right the first time or you'll be sorry.

You know I wanted to paint this old 82 4 banger mustang i had with spray paint. We also planned on cutting the top off and making it a convertible..... It would of been sweet. as for the spoiler I guess I will take it to a shop. should i do anything to it before i take it over there? I don't want to pay extra or anything. spray paint cant be too bad....

... spray paint can be REAL bad! Not a good idea for large objects or anything you want looking top notch. Spray paint cannot even come close to the real thing. There's no way they can formulate it the same & still have it come out of a pressurized can through a tiny pinhole.;)
