I would put some kind of lube on the window track so regulator does break on you

It would be best to
1. Apply some spray silicone lube to the wool pile guides in the track. That lubes them, doesn't pick-up dust like oil, and doesn't smear onto the glass with windex like grease or oil.

2. Remove the door panels.
Using grease or oil, lube the rollers, traks, and pivot points of the lift 'scissors'.

Get a Haynes or Chilton's, it's a necessary book for all GA owners.

Good luck.

Ah, I did not realize that GM changed from one terrible system to a more modern (but still problem-prone) system.

Thanks.

the scissors is the best IMO. We have had no problems on the scissor system on my mom's car. All you hear about is the 99+ breaking all the time. I believe the back windows on the 99+ use the scissor system.

Talk about bringing a thread back from the dead...Would WD-40 be ok to spray on the track?

WD-40 is great at several things, including dissolving rust and freeing stuck-together parts.
It also makes a mess on surfaces that should be clear, like window glass.

And, it has no long-lasting lubricating ability.

Your best bet is silicone spray lubricant (not silicone adhesive or silicone caulking) in the vertical window tracks (won't smear like oil will) and grease/oil on the pivoting and moving metal things inside the door.

What i been using is wheel bearing grease. And the back windows have the new system, but it only has one lifting thing.
