My shifter cable snapped on the Getrag equiped 94. The horizontal shifting (1-3-5) cable.

Anyone else replace it?
Any tools out of the ordinary needed?
Anyone have the part #? (I'm thinking GMpartsdirect.com)
Or any recommendations on where to get elsewhere? (don't have time for junkyard visit)

Guess I'll google for a part number in the meantime... I'm stuck at work.

This is what I found so far... can anyone narrow it down? IIRC I have the M32, so it should be the "select" one, right? (22575723)

Standard Trans,Trans Mfr CD 5TM40/MY5, Select, 22575724

Standard Trans,Trans Mfr CD 5TM40/MY5, Shift, 22551467

Standard Trans,Trans Mfr CD M32, Select, 22575723

Standard Trans,Trans Mfr CD M32, Shift, 22570006

I'm thinking that the select cable is for the horizontal travel and the shift cable is for the vertical travel. Also, you know where to find the MY5 & M32 codes to verify your tranny? Sounds like you do, it's just that most people don't know.

According to my lookup:

M32
TRANSMISSION, MAN 5 SPD, ISUZU, 76MM, 3.72 1ST, .70

MY5
TRANSMISSION, MAN 5 SPD, HMD, 3.50 1ST, 1.03

Can anyone confirm or deny RPO codes??

Ok, well I have already placed an order using my own research as verification.

I ordered
Standard Trans,Trans Mfr CD 5TM40/MY5, Select, 22575724

Based on RPO code MY5 verified on my trunk sticker, and the pic I found of the "shift" cable (22551467) that matches the one I didn't break.

Hope I'm right... it's non-returnable and $117.23

*bump*

Just following up on my posts, so that someone searching in the future may find this information useful.

It took about a week to get the part from GMpartsdirect.com but it was a special order part. I changed it out last Thursday in my work lot. A major storm rolled in, luckily I was almost done and finished re-assembly of console etc at home on fri.

Pics here:

This was indeed the correct cable:
Standard Trans,Trans Mfr CD 5TM40/MY5, Select, 22575724

*pats self on back for doing proper and accurate research*

Tools needed:
-Metric socket set, I used 3/8" drive
-Metric deep sockets recommended (tho I was able to do without)
-several size socket extensions and swivel joint
-long angled pliars
-jack and stands
