Well, this is kinda just a story about my history with grand am's (all with the quad4 of course) and a question at the end. My first grand am was an '88 2door LE. I have road in some fast cars before that one but when i got it i was amazed at how this little 4 banger ga would haul so much ass. But after driving it a while it started to feel slow, not sure if it was gettin old or just me. THen i got a '93 sohc quad from my parents. Nice lookin car, but it might as well have a 5hp briggs and straton. I ended up wrecking it @ 180k miles (im amazed that little motor went that long, i put about 20k miles on it with the peddal on the floor 40% of the time). After that i got a '91 4 door LE (which i have now). Has the dohc quad. Same thing, when i first got it, seemed like a rocket, now after about a year of owning it, doesnt seem that fast. I think im seeing a pattern here.. hmm... Anyway, all that blab and really all im wanting too know is are there any really really cheap mods or ways to get more power out of this motor for cheap or nothing. I know the car would be faster with a manuall trany but i dont have the money nor can i be without a car for a while.

Hardly... there's lots of easy/cheap ones on the 95...
-HO intake manifold
-early HO exhaust manifold
-Underdrive pulley (HO crank pulley or aftermarket one)

Let's not forget exhaust system and intake. (custom)
