If its been done it would be an easy answer, however I don't know a thing about the timing reluctor/trigger wheels on quads. CAN YOU SWAP THEM, UNBOLT THEM, ADAPT THEM, MOVE THEM BETWEEN YEAR MODELS. If these are interchangeable parts then it leaves near endless swapping possibilities for quads between the years. I want to replace a 95 block with a 2.4 block or older 2.3 block and the cheapest and most convenient way to do this would be to swap the timing trigger to adapt the block to the existing computer instead of swapping god knows what( wiring, wiring, ecm, wiring) to adapt the car for the engine. I've tryed to have this question answered a before, but it just doesn't seem to ring any bells. If you know of or how lets make this clear.
I'm sure this would open up other peoples eyes as well.:???:

Which 95 ECM do you have? OBD1 or 2? Most manual 95's are OBD1, which leaves you with many 2.3 HO/W41 options. Most auto 95's are OBDII, which is more common with the Twin Cam, however additional wiring is present on the 2.4. (EGR valve, etc)
Also possibly useful... although the OBD1 95 engine has no cam position sensor, the intake cam still has the timing lobe, so adding a sensor would only be a matter of swapping the cam tower housing cover and adding sensor / wiring.

OK hear is the deal pickle. I have OBD1 or whichever the older type is. This is how I know. I have a three speed auto instead of the overdrive model, for one, and I can crank the car, pop the hood and unplug the camshaft pos. sensor and drive around all day long. I found out that a long time ago however I do not know if I can diagnose my computer with a paperclip or not never tried, I can on my beretta, but its a 91. The vin does suggest that it is a 95 model car. It's really a strange setup, that is all 95's are wierd. So I do not need the cam sensor on my engine and now that I know that , which engines will run off my ECM and will the timing of tdc be right when I drop a 2.4 or older 2.3 in.Lets answer all the major questions for a 95 swap(HO/older LO/W41/2.4) so WE ALL know and can pop it up in a search. I'd hate to assume noone knows forever:)
