I'm sure everyone's seen my thread in the 'member's rides' section where I'd just painted the front clip of my car.

Well...about an hour ago, I was on the way home with some BlueBell Ice cream for the wife and I to share over a few movies, when I creamed this big-ass dog while I was going about 45mph.

It was on a highway, and there was a car to my left. I was slowing down to turn right to head home when the dog ran out from the woods that are on side of the highway. There was nothing I could do but slam the brakes.

Needless to say, my exhaust system is COMPLETELY ruined...and the front air dam is busted....and god knows what else is broken.

The cat has been pulled loose from where it's welded, and has a huge hole in it. I'm PRAYING that the manifold didn't get pulled away from the engine, or that the headers didn't get bent, or else the car will be heading for the junkyard.

The car runs fine, but is obviously MUCH louder, and seems to be missing a bit, the new foglights work, the A/C works etc. I THINK it may have shifted the oil pan b/c I noticed a bit of oil leaking down from the oil pan gasket area. When I say this was a big dog...i'm talking about the size of a large Labrador or something.

Guys....really.....im asking for everyone to wish me luck here. If the damage goes over about 2 grand, the car's a goner, as I won't be able to justify spending too much more on this car.

This REALLY REALLY sucks man....I just spent the better part of 2 entire WEEKS repainting and refinishing that airdam...and then less than 3 days after I finished it, this happens.

wife's calling the insurance co. now. I'm not really sure what she bought for that car.

She prolly doesn't though...being as the car's almost 10 years old now :roll2:

I'm just pissed that I just spent 2 weeks repainting that shit.

I just finished fiberglassing the front air dam back together.....

i dont have any pics...i was too upset to take any. I'd just gotten finished repainting that part of my car. It took me almost 2 weeks to get it done. Then...less than 3 days later this happens.

I've already fiberglassed the busted air dam back together. I'm going to prime it in 2 days when the fiberglass is finished curing.

As far as my exhaust goes, the cat is completely ruined, as is my driver's side muffler, which is crushed beyond repair. The crossover pipe had broken loose.

I am going to bring it somewhere to have a new exhaust installed Wednesday. I cannnot take off of work again because of this car, so it will have to wait until my next day off.

I split out the off-topic posts from this thread. Please everyone, CrashVector feels bad about hitting the dog, no need to kick him while he's down. Let's keep this on-topic, OK?

Thanks!

Thank u sunrunner.

I've just finished repriming my front air dam.....I've replaced the oil pan gasket.....and I've redone the front brakes with new rotors (I flat-spotted them when I slammed on the brakes...but they needed replacing anyhow)

All i've got left is the muffler, and some other minor underbody damage.
