W41 engine w/ LO 4 sp trans?

hi again everyone, i have a quad 4 LO, along with the 4speed automatic trans to match, does anyone know if that trans will hold the W41 engine? thanks everyone, take care!!

In '89 it was actually a 3 speed automatic, but that's not a big deal. The W41 would bolt up to that tranny, but it probably wouldn't be any more powerful than your current engine. The W41's power curve is so high in the rpm range that the auto tranny can't get to it. It would really be a waste to mate the two engines together (neither the HO or W41 were mated to an auto tranny from the factory). Now if you want to convert to a five speed and add the W41, that would be good! :)

Yea, auto + W41 would be a bad idea. If fact, in street conditions may actually make you slower.
