Security Light

Every once in a while.. I'll put my key in the ignition and try to start my car and the security light will start blinking and the car will shut off and not start. If i wait like... 5 min.. it runs fine. It only happens like once a month but it happened twice this week so I figured now is the time to fix it. I drive a 98 SE so there is no chip on the key. Any ideas?

what was the problem w/your car w/the security light and the passlock? this is what mine is doing started out everyonce and awhile but now all the time at least once or twice a day

Mine did that too, and I didn't know why.

Brought it in, got it fixed...25 bucks.
