As some of you may have already noticed, the Grand Am Owners Club (GAOC) has introduced a ‘Warning System’, which will keep tally of an individual’s transgressions that warrant Moderator intervention. This addition may seem somewhat severe but as of late, we have noticed an increased number of troubles and we need a better way of keeping track. Briefly stated, rule breakage will automatically get a recorded warning and an associated point value will be added to your account. The more serious the infraction, the higher the point value applied up until a maximum of 25 at which time your membership will be temporarily suspended pending discussions between the respective member and the Administration. To maintain a high degree of privacy, members will only see warning totals but when a warning is issued, either a PM or E-mail will be sent which will outline the reasons and will specify in which thread the infraction took place. Finally, each warning will clearly state an expiry date meaning if no other warnings are received during this time frame, the warning will be cleared. For a list of possible warnings and their respective point valves, please CLICK HERE (http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/warn.php?).
Now, we would like to take this opportunity to confirm the GAOC will continue to have the same friendly atmosphere and easy going nature it has become known for. Our reasoning is simple; we decided that we needed to take a more proactive stance against problems since our exponential growth means an increased possibility of troubles. To be blunt, members who abide by the posted rules have nothing to worry about and should see nothing different on how the forum is handled.
Thank you and we hope everyone continues to enjoy the GAOC.
