Hi, I was wondering if anyone out there knows if someone makes an intercooler for the turbo for a 1988 Grand Am SE turbo, or some kind of add on one from another make will work. I am in the process of rebuilding my 1988 GA SE 2.0L turbo. Any help will be greatly appreciated. The 88 GA turbo has 90611K on it. I also have a 1987 GA SE turbo with the rare 5-spd tranny with only 18000K yes 18,000K on it...needs a paint job because it was sitting in the hot Arizona sun for 8 years!, but besides that it is in extremely great condition! I currently drive a 2003 Grand Am GT SC/T 30th ann. Fushion Orange. Thank you all for your time

Any intercooler is going to be a custom install. What you get depends on how much of the car you are willing to chop off/relocate. I'm planning on getting one from Johnnyracecar.com (http://johnnyracecar.com/) , the 5" one.
Well, maybe not. I just checked the site and he's now selling exclusively on Ebay. Unless he keeps the same price and lists them with "buy it now" I'll probably search elsewhere.

Or if you dont want to go the expensive route you could just get one from the autowreckers, I got mine from a turbo saab, from what I hear they have great flow, I removed my air conditioning and put my intercooler where the condenser was and used the brackets from the condenser and it worked great, a little modification but not to much.

I dont have any pics, but I had to have the ends cut off and moved them to the sides and welded it all back up air tight, then plumed the piping width wise around the rad and curved it around it to the turbo and up to the throttle body. it wasnt to much work the hardest part is moving the inlet and out lets on the IC but I know a good welder ;)
good luck with yours.

O yeah, I forgot to mention I did it to a sunbird, so it might be a little diffrent from a grand am, but I know the two cars are very simmilar.
