That looks real good, really clean since everything on the dash is white except a few things. paint the door pannels! :-) I like.

as soon as I get "unbroke" I'm going to get more dye and do the door panels, and get some leather seats with white and blue, and get bright blue carpet too

I used vinyl dye, I was lucky enough to find some at the local autozone that was the white I wanted, I don't know if they all carry it or not though

so is it better to paint the interior or use the vinyl dye? which lasts longer? by the way dude, the car looks sweet.

Hey man, that is really good looking. It totally changes the car into a super sweet looking ride. How do you use that vinyl stuff on your dash? Is it expensive?
DowmaceWH99
08-18-2004, 12:52 PM
I payed $4.19 per can of white dye, I used one and a half of them, spray it on just like spray paint, light coats, about 6 inches from the dash,
I suggest dye over paint because the dye won't chip away like paint will

Looks good. Not a huge fan of the hoo dstripes but I do however like the pinstipes on the side of the vehicle. I think something of that nature to replace whats on the hood would look sweet.
DowmaceWH99
08-18-2004, 07:52 PM
I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the hood, I did the stripes on the hood before the graphic on the side, and I have decided on a design for the hood, I do all my own stuff, and I can do pretty much any design I just have to come up with one I like
any suggestions?

dash looks awesome man....Was it a PITA to take the dash out? Ive been thinking about dying my dash black since Ive been wanting that color ever since I found out the color of the interior when I got it,that was the only thing I didn't like about it when I got it but after I started modding it i didn't care.....Looks awesome! Keep it up! Not a big fan of graphics on cars but its yours not mine:)

it was a major PITA to get the dash out!!! I started at 11, and got the thing out and started prepping it for dye at 8pm ish

Something simple like on the side. I'm thinking maybe a single stripe coming down the body line on each side of the hood and coming across to meet each other maybe 4-5"s from the leading edge of the hood. Possibally doing the same on the deck lid to match.
Just an idea.

VanishingImage
08-21-2004, 10:43 PM
pretty good shots of the neons, don't know if I like the purple on the outside and red ones on the inside.Still, that interior is kick ass, from the pics look like you just had everything leather wrapped or something.Id do that but Im affraid about my carpet not matching at all.
looks really nice. i know that had to of been one heck of a job to complete.

I like the purple because, I have yet to pull up next to another person with purple neons, or another GA with neons for that matter, but thanks for the opinion, I like any constructive criticism I can get!

That looks awesome. I have a white GA too with blue accents and I've been thinking about blue neons. I'm not sure about the red and purple neons, but I do agree, they look really good.
DowmaceWH99
08-30-2004, 06:17 PM
I had blue for awhile, but I kept getting pulled over, and I would have to prove that you couldn't see the actual tube to keep from getting a ticket, so I switched over to my purple, I've only gotten pulled over once for them because the cop thought they were strobing, so he gave me a ticket for my LCD because he "was required"

Did you ever get an actucal ticket for the blue neons?
DowmaceWH99
08-30-2004, 11:02 PM
yes I did, $143 non-moving violation, I was rather pissed, because that cop had x-ray vision, because unless you took the front bumper cover off you could not see the blue in the front!

Thats a hell of an interior, I wish I had the patience for a project like that..
DowmaceWH99
08-31-2004, 01:34 AM
everybody has the patience for it, everyone makes it out to be alot harder than it actually is, the hard part is putting it back in, there are alot of minor adjustments that have to be worked out real minutely, it took me maybe 30-45 mintues to put it backin, the actual dye process took maybe 15 minutes +drying time

hehehe....you don't know me and my freinds......it takes a LONG time to do anything.......
A simple CD player install took us roughly 7 hours....
DowmaceWH99
08-31-2004, 08:08 PM
haha, 7hours? with all the parts and tools in front of me, I could probablywire a harness and put the HU in the dash within 20 minutes, and most people probably could, lol 7hours!

ur dash definatly looks nasty -- that vinyl dye leave any residue (sticky etc) still able to clean the same way? Let me know! Thanks!
DowmaceWH99
09-04-2004, 12:05 AM
nope no residue or nothin', still feels just as smooth as it did when it was grey, I finally did my door panels and reinstalled my LCD and dvd player so sometime soon I'll be updating my pics, and btw did you mean nasty in a good way lol
