The color is Mystic Teal Metallic and was the least produced color in 2001 and was discontinued in 2002. Pontiac calls the same color Blue-Green Chameleon. Here's a pic of the certificate I got to attest to the lap we took at IMS.

I can tell some of those pics are old. I'm sure NE Ohio has been all white for a good long while. Nice ride! That's your beater right? So you can keep the GA nice in the winter?

Actually I was referring to the fact that the new GTs have a V6 and you have a 4, like me.

And to you, a camaro owner, I pose this question:
I've found a 1998 Camaro, T-Tops, CD, leather interior, 50k miles.
It's kind of a burnt orange color that I think looks really sweet. Black racing stripes too.
Anyway, it's not a Z28 or an SS or anything, but it's a sweet looking car, and it's only 7,995.
Would you trade your GA for a camaro? Or stick with the GA?
I can afford only one of them, but I'm having a seriously hard time not running to the dealership and dropping my GA like a rock.
My GA's a Black 99 GT, camel leather interior, Premium sound, Sunroof.. everything. It only has 25,900 miles on it right now. That's my one stickey thing. I'd be trading a car with around 26k on it for one with almost twice that.
I'm so torn. What would all of you guys do?

It's up to you, but considering where you live would you want a Camaro for a year-round car? The GA is probably gonna handle better in bad weather. If you got some sandbags in the rear and put snow tires on that would help I guess. Also depends how much you have to drive in the winter.

Decided against it after a good amount of consideration. It would have to be my daily driver, meaning I would have to drive it in the snow and ice to work all winter long.
I'm also scared shitless of what the insurance would be on it, as mine's $215 a month on the GA.
Perhaps someday far off in the future I'll be able to afford an extra car.
Till then.. I'll just be a little envious of you and your shiny camaro.
:)

good call. aside from insurance issues, the GA GT is a better car. camaros lose quite a bit of power through the driveshaft (RWD)- your grand am is much faster. if it were a Z28 or SS, i'd say go for it. plus your GA has so little miles on it, there's no point in jumping from the frying pan into the fire.
LargeFish: that's a nice car, but why a V6?

Originally bought to be more of a daily driver (other than severe weather) and wanted to keep fuel and insurance costs down. Really not a bad engine anyways as it has more power stock for stock than a lot of the 3rd gen Z28s. And BTW a 3.8 powered F-body is pretty close in 1/4 mi. times to a GA GT. Much more power loss in an auto transmission than there is in a driveshaft, plus RWD rocks!

With the engine failure in the GAGT I won't be able to get the fibreglass hood, exhaust and rocker upgrades I was planning on for a good while now, but I sure am enjoying the RWD feel. Gotta get the GA going so I don't pile too many miles on my baby...

Hmmm - well it was not 3 1/2 years. Exactly 3 yrs + 17 days between posts.
My (ex-)imaging site made some policy changes late last year and I didn't find out in time, so I replaced the pics that I could find.
