Now before you start going "you ripped that idea off" let me say... whatever. I am not the only one. Let me know what you think! I think they look awesome. I can't wait to get the second one done and get them on the car. I still have to figure out how to seal up the back good.

I believe that they are lights that you can buy from AutoZone with the angel eye's built in.
A very nice look, good work on your mod!

Yes, they are two optiluxes inside the headlight casing.
As for the clear covers.... I tried that, I couldn't get them to fit quite right. The stock cover fit better. Besides, those babies put out a lot of heat and I would have melted those clear covers. I am going to put my black overlays on these (the ones people think look so good)
Any ideas on how to seal up the back of the housing? Electric tape just ain't going to cut it.
And thanks for the compliments on the house. :) It's our first home. We haven't even lived there quite a year yet.

I'd use a 2 part epoxy product such as Dupont panel bond, or Kent chemweld. it'll be waterproof & bulletproof. If you use this stuff, make sure you've designed your lights in a way that you can still remove the Optilux's from the backside if you need to cuz once this stuff sets there's no turning back.
They look ver nice by the way. Let us know how they perform @ night though. I have been considering doing the same thing but I am skeptical that they'd produce the same amount of light or better than the stock setup.

Okay, I'll keep that in mind.
I am guessing that the light output will probably be better. I never had good luck with light output on my stock headlights.

so you still have the clear covers? wanna sell em?

I agree, I wouldn't use the covers w/ that kind of heat. The reflectors don't look that bad. They're not even noticable (Unless you're obsessed with getting rid of them) / every leagal car has them.

I'm not obsessed with having them, that's for sure. The reflector covers I use look pretty awesome.
As for the covers, I didn't have the clear ones to try and fit... I had the smoke ones that I was using for fitment to see if the clear ones might work. They are not quite the right shape and size and I wouldn't have gotten a good enough seal on them... and they would have melted for sure.

They've got to be better than what's in the car now. But thank you for the input. :o)

I may use them for show purposes/day time use anyway if they end up being worse.

It should be fine.... actually I am taking it a step further.... I am making the headlights WITHOUT the cover.... should turn out quite nice. Of course this is only the first light, I haven't even bought the passenger side yet.

i used plastic trim and emblen adhesive on my clear tails and on my head lights and i have not had any leaks or seperation what soever, atleast with this stuff you can always heat it up ,take a knife and seperate the glued pieces if you have to. Excellent job btw !

Peyman, as soon as I get the second headlight done. I am still working on the first one. Almost done. I want to make it look as professional as possible. It'll have a few blemishes I am sure. I may have to do some more bondo filling on some of it then all I have to do is sand, primer, sand, paint, sand......... you get the idea. Then I need to buy the stuff I need to make the second light. I should have some pictures to show off within the next few days.
NiteShadow, thanks for the compliment. :)

Cool picture. Speaking of pics I should have some pics up soon of the new headlight. I am in the painting and finishing phase of the driver's side and have put a bid in on the passenger side on eBay. The second one shouldn't take as long (hopefully).

Ya, your 2nd one oughta go quicker since you went through all the trial & errors w/ the 1st one. Now you know what to do you can just go to it & get it done.

Yeah, that is what I am using... black silicone. I actually need to go get some more. I am pretty much done with the first one except I have one more thing to do.... find a glass marble that will fit in the opening for my inner turn signal.
