Ok.. I was driving my car down the road today at around 35.. I hit the gas pedal to accelerate, but it didnt want to accelerate at all.. Like no power was going anywhere.. I slowed down and came to a stop at a redlight, and i could hear the exhaust chugging very consistentley.. I pulled off to the side, and the engine light came on before I turned the car off.. Upon turning it back on and driving around the block of the residential area i was at, the car would run(Still with chugging), but when i hit the gas to decelrate, when it got to low speeds/rpm's it would almost stall(I had to recover it from this 3 times in the course of 2 blocks).. Ive no clue whats wrong with it.. Feels like a cylinder isint firing.. Or more than one.. Could be related to last night.. I was driving down the highway and I noticed that I had to fight to stay at 70MPH, when usually it handled getting there and running at that speed with no problems..

No white smoke coming out of exhaust, and nothing out of the normal aside from the engine chugging and such..

What could the problem be? I want to get an idea before I have the shop look at it..

I'd start with the obvious, Fuel Filter. If that's not it check the plugs.

The Check Engine light is a clue.

You could have the codes read, to see what problem area the PCM thinks is a source of trouble.

Another possibility is a clogged cat.
The after-cat sensor (a temp-and-O2 device, I think) gives the PCM a signal.
If that signal compares unfavorably to the signal from the O2 sensor on the exhaust manifold, then a code will be set and the Check Engine/SES light will illuminate.

Good luck.

I would be all of those arent the case since it happend all of a sudden.. i would bet more into a coil pack or module.. but you need it tested for it to say for sure

Ok heres an update.. they took a look.. Turns out injectors 2 and 4 are completeley clogged and blocked.. numbers 1 and 3 are on their way as well.. They took the gas tank off today, but I wont know till monday what the problem could be.. They say 1 of 3 things.. Sabotage(Unlikeley), Bad batch of gas(with water mixed in).. possibly, because there were reports of a bad batch being shipped out recentley.. or third the tank could be rusted and needs to be replaced.. I guess we'll find out monday.. In the mean time, aside from a junkyard, could anyone point me towards new fuel rails(assuming they come with injectors) for a 2.4 Twin Cam..?
