is there a company that makes a cut-out for a 1999 grand am gt?
ive tried searching but couldnt find anything. or would it be possiblt to just take a cut out made for a firebird or camaro? or is just not a good idea to do a cut-out on a grand am?

check out partsforyourcar.com, they have an electrical cutout for the GA's. Think it might say for '00 and up but I'm sure whoever is doing your exhaust will be able to do it. 99's arent too diff from later models

I have a manual cutout that goes on any car with 2.25" piping. I got it for $20 and it just has a lever that goes into the cabin that opens and closes it. I always run with it open though. Look around eBay and you may find a universal cutout.

did you happen to find a good gain in hp or response with that cut out? i am thinking about getting a quicktime electric cut out but thats the only mod so far other than the civic CAI

I wouldn't waste your money on a cut out. My experience with them, they rattle, and leak, and are just an all around pain in the ass. Deff not worth the headache, you'd prolly get more power by cleaning your air filter.

so all in all the SLP exhaust would be a better choice than the cut out considering price? Exhaust is around $380 and cut out $150
gains estimated on exhaust up to 12hp but cut out is unknown.. i know there is a relationship between how much you gain in each but i'm assuming that ET's would be a good way to compare the results

i'd go full exhaust before i went cut-out...

I don't know the numbers, but you will definately get more power from a cat-back then you wil from a cut-out, and chances are you won't be happy with the cut-out either.

I'd have to agree that they do rattle. But mine is also under a lot of pressure with the supercharger pushing all that air through. I would definitely do a catback exhaust first. Cutout on stock exhaust is a waste of money.

actually, mine was just the opposite. At idle it would rattle the most. At WOT not a peep from it. And that was 24 lbs of boost, dumping 2 feet after the turbo.
