Ok, I bought a 04 Grand Am last week because I liked the way it drove and the way it looked. Plus I got a killer deal, but now I was wondering what trim it was. Are there any tell tale signs to finding out. This is my first GA. So, I don't know anything bout these rides. Thanks, Mat

does your car have body cladding? (3 ribs around the car)
dual exhaust tips?
silver trim around the windows?

...just to name a few things

You can tell by the grille also, is it really like.. thin an tiny, or larger? If you have a digital cam, just post a pic im sure it would be easier. Also, if it was a GT it would probably have GT badging.

there is no badging. And none of the stuff you mentioned. So, I take it it would be just an SE. I thought it was, but its got a 3400 V6. I thought the SE were v4 only. Thanks

Wait, after further inspection. There is the silver trim around the windows.

One SURE way ... does it have rear disc brakes?!? If yes, it is a GT ... if no and it has drum brakes, it is an SE :)

My 2002 SE only has badging on the trunk lid. It just reads "Grand Am"

The only badging is the Grand am on the trunk and the V6 on the fender. It has the drum brakes.

You must have an SE version then. the GTs would have disc brakes on all 4 wheels and instead of the v6 badge it would say ramairv6. also the badge on the back would be Grand Am GT.

You aren't retarded. I realized that the Grand Am's after they stopped putting the ribbing on the door panels became relatively harder to distinguish trim wise.

Your best bet would be to go to www.pontiac.com and check out the rims, under Grand Am. From there you should be able to tell.

That, and its an SE if the speedometer goes up to 120. It's a GT if it goes to 150.

Well, the V6 is optional on all of the SE trims (except SE2 where it's standard). Your best bet would be to ask your dealer exactly what trim you have or to check the window sticker.

I hate those damn V4's, everytime I change my turn signal fluid, the alternator valves get in the way.
