this kid i know jus joined GAGT.com and hes from my town..he sed he took out the whole ram air assembly and resonator. He sed it "sounds like a Trans Am"...highly doubtful as my first thought. So of course i was bored and did it. It's wierd, def louder, didnt notice any performance. It never occured to me to do this. i put the assembly back in to compare and its def quieter wit the assembly. whatdya guys think?

what kind of input do ya want....no it's not gonna increase your performance at all. yes it will give it a nice growl. that's about it.

i was jus maybe hopin to see some maybe "ooo yea its such a nice growl" or "dont do it, man it aint good"...i wasnt sure if it was a good idea or not. I was just lookin for some sway. I mean, the ram air is restrictive right? so therefore takin out the assembly to the airbox and jus havin the airbox there would be a good thing or bad? thats all...o and sorry if i sounded like a little whiny 10 year old rich girl, i was jus makin sure i didnt ruin my car or anything without soundin liek a noob

Stick to a CAI and get the cool sound by that. Hehe dont worry. you wont ruin your car. All your basically doing is removing some of the restrictive piping. That said, you might think that removing it your increase HP because hey, less restrictive is better right? Well unfortunatly, when you remove it, your are also sucking in air that is closer to the engine. Closer to the engine means more heat which isnt the greatest for performance since cooler air is more dense. The RAM AIR on a GA is restrictive yes, but it still provides better gains than the stock setup on an SE. For the best, you would want to actually upgrade your air intake system with either a Short Ram Intake ( aka WAI or Warm Air Intake ) or a CAI or Cold Air Intake. Either way, your going to get some gains in HP as well as a better sound. A CAI is going to give you bigger gains but its also more expensive and harder to get ( A WAI you can make yourself pretty easily ). Put it this way, when I first got my CAI, I loved the sound so much ( plus I loved the whistle that came with it ) I would constantly be pushing the gas just to hear it. Its even worse now that I have my exhaust ;)
