Now I am considering purchasing a CAI for my 2000 GT but I have hear stories about the filter getting soaked with water. What are the chances that the filter would get soaked while driving.. I live in NY so there is alot of snow and stuff. I dont go flying through any deep puddles either so what kind of chances am I looking at here? I want to get one soo bad just worried about that factor..

I drove around forever with one on and never had a problem. If you are seriously worried though you could always purchase an Bypass valve for the intake. They work great and should keep your engine safe incase you do submerge the filter in water or snow.

it's like a 1 in 32847239472389 chance of happening...
if you don't drive through the red sea, you'll be alright.

you shouldn't have any problems unless you like to submarine your car.................................ok who's the u-boat pilot.......

ok, I live much farther north with much more snow and ive never had a problem. Your fine. the only thing is, your filter gets dirty often. I recharge mine twice a year.

I haven't had a problem with mine yet with water. Been through some decent puddles too (not on purpose). As long as you don't submerge it, you should be fine.

I just put my CAI in at the beginning of the summer, and since winter is coming soon, I was thinking about taking the fender well pipe out and just making it a WAI for the winter. Just wondering if you leave yours in or not?

My buddies here in midwest drive with CAI all year long with no problems. I have WAI now and I regrett it. This thing is the most worthless mod ever. I notice gain during nights when there is cooler air, but during the hot day, it seems like it's worse than stock airbox. DO NOT GET WAI.

no issues here in western, pa, and we get dumped on .My old ga had one, and my newer ga has one. Just dont drive through deep puddles or if you do go slow. We had such bad rains the last couple of weeks from the hurricanes, and a few streets in the area had several inchs of water on them. I just try to keep my drivers side ( where the intake is) away from any big big puddles, and dont go through them at WOT. ;D Just use your head and you shouldnt have any problems.
