Here I go again..... I notice that when these cars burnout, auto. or std., We have the limited slip system of getting traction. But I was wondering that have any of y'all seen a kit or modification that would creat more of a positraction front end on take off? ....Just to what gets both tires spinning while driving that may improove take off time and acceleration in general. Holla back with the Info.

phantom grip makes a cheap unit 280 bucks that presses out on both spider gears. I have one but have yet to try it. Torsen limited slips run around 1500 bucks and work awsome. check mantapart.com

Wait, so..

When it's drizzling lightly and the road is damp. Say I'm at a stop light... It goes green, I put my foot on the gas slightly softer than usual and the front tires spin and spin, the rear sways to the right or the left a little bit and then I gain control. I didn't slam the gas too hard and infact, the other cars in the other lanes were ahead of me. In some cases this happens on a hill, the car doesn't even move. I have to put my foot on the brake then try again and go even slower to the point that I would be going 2mph to get moving.

So this is a known problem with these engines? I'm really not looking forward to driving in the snow with this car. I don't play around and act stupid, I drive seriously yet my car has the potential to spin out in light and heavy rain. The tires were the best 350 bucks could buy from Tire Kingdom and have 2000 miles on them if that.

I've never heard of a problem as serious as that with these cars. My '89 would spin the tires fairly easily in rain or snow, but not like that! What kind of tires did you buy?

Ehhh.... I really don't remember what tires they are. I'll have to look on the receipt next time I go out.

Are they directional tires? Make sure they are rotating the correct direction.

Limited slip would be nice, but our cars shouldn't have too many issues. I'm with Brad... it may be tire related. Even on my HO, I hardly even slip during a hard 1-2 shift in the rain. I love the wet traction of Bridgestone Potenza RE950's. When I had old & worn tires, they would break free when the engine hit it's powerband ~5000 RPM in 2nd gear. (pretty scary in traffic)

I'm not real sure about a posi on a FWD car in the rain or snow I know that on a RWD car it tends to swing the rear end of the car I would think you would get some nasty torque steering on a wet road with FWD and a posi?

Ive never heard of a fwd car having the rear slide left to right while spinning.. lol. The front is what goes side to side on my ga when i spin 'em.
