Just wondering. Is it easy to install? and is the pulley a different size than stock?

it REPLACES the a/c compressor.... difficulty is on how skillful you are in dismantling your a/c system.
The pulley takes places of the a/c compressor. so imagine that this is just a pulley taht sits in place of the compressor.

Nah...its good info to archive.
Lets make sure anyone who gets the A/C compressor removed to please first have the system discharged by certified techs at a repair facility! Not only is letting freon out into the atmosphere illegal, but keep in mind Freon BOILS at -30 F. You can get seriously injured if you are sprayed.

I know what it is... azeniskid My question was to whether or not the pulley is the same size as the pulley on the a/c compressor. Different location or size in pulley can greatly affect the size of the belt. The reason I asked is when I was getting a belt from autozone they asked if my car was with a/c or without... they had different belt sizes for both.
I will take it from your response that the pulley is the same size therfore using the same belt size.

I'm under the assumption.. but than again an extra trip to the store never hurt me either... guess I'll see what the truth is when I get to it.. :-p

well my compressor is shot, what do i have to do to install this? do i just have the system drained and then remove the parts or is there more to this? or could i just run a shorter belt and get the same effect? basicly i need to bypass the AC compressor, since im to poor to fix the problem

buy pulley... drain a/c system.. tear out system... bye bye compressor... replace w/ said pulley part... plug and play.
The real question is...
how much h.p. are you actually gonna gain from this?
The only real drag you have is when the A/C is actually on.
has this ever been dyno'd?
Or should is just be listed as "weight reduction" :D

do i need a shorter belt? I want AC, but since this compressor is bad, i guess this is a quick fix till summer

it's a STOCK replacement... fits like the A/C compressor fit...
HP gains? Who cares, it gets rid of clutter in the engine bay area.. I think that's gain enough for efficiency reasons, one less goddamn thing to worry about.

can i get away with useing a smaller belt just to bypass the AC, i dont want to have to pay someone to drain the system. i just need a quit cheap fix for the time being.
