you could just buy a standard cone filter from K&N and then buy some alluminum tubing from home depot.. that is 3 inch. and all the proper fittings... along with drilling 2 holes into the tube for the IAT sensor ... if you have one.. and the breather tube... but then if you want a true CAI you need to buy more tubing with 90 bends and so on.. and piece it together...
Or just buy one and install

-Use the 92-96 prelude intake off ebay and get black couplers from autozone.
-Make the hole in the fender to fit the intake

Yep, that Prelude intake is probably the cheapest/professional looking you're going to get for $50 US. Make sure you are specific when you say WHICH prelude CAI. There's a one piece and a 2 piece. You need the 2 piece to do this mod. Also you don't need to make a hole since there is already one there when you remove the stock airbox.
This is what my setup looks like. I used the Prelude CAI as well.

There are a few variations you can go with, but you just have to look. There is really only 3 methods that I know of that work. The Prelude, the tranzgenic CAI that is designed for the 3100 (www.tranzgenic.com (http://www.tranzgenic.com) ), and the third is going the way RedHot97GAGT did and using some flex hose ( flex hose method (http://cardomain.com/memberpage/631995/3) ). The last will be cheaper than the rest so if $ is tight, that may be your best alternative. I have made a HOW-TO for my CAI so PM my and I'll give it to ya.

www.doctorspeed.com makes one like that for the 3100 v6 . I have the red boot one in my 3400 v6 and i like it.
