To put the last damn blasted bolt for the valve cover under neath the egr valve. I mean it's the only big repair job I have to do aside from bleeding my breaks. I look in the engine and say, hey this isn't hard. The bolts are all right there. Yeah, sure. Until I cant get the cover off and match it up to the new gasket. So to get the bolt out I have to take the egr valve off. But to get that off, first I have to go to the hardware store ot get a wrench that fits and can get in under there. Then I have to take the power steering pump off to get one bolt off then the throttle linkage to get the other. Then as if that isn't hard enough, the bolts are a bear to get out. So much that I break one in the manifold. Then when I try to chisel it off so I can drill it out the manifold cracks around the bolt hole. now I have to use a smaller bolt and washer and nut on the other side when I put the egr valve back in. And I'll end up replacing the manifold in Nov just to make sure it's good. And I though it was going to be a simple 1 1/2 hour repair.

dam car manufactures don't want you working on it. some times I spend more on the tools to get every thing off than the replacement part.

man that sucks! sorry to hear. Wasn't there some law or initiative to 'force' car manufacturers to make cars more "owner-repair" friendly or was that a dream I woke up too early from?

Yeah, I'm going to end up replacing the manifold in the spring to ensure it's good. I was looking for one of those wrenches but the hardware store near me didn't have any. SHould have tried Autozone.
