I hooked up a new MP3 radio to the wiring harness, and I am getting a hum on the rear speakers when the volume is turned down. I believe after reading a few postings, that the rear speakers must be driven off an amp. Is this true? If so, where is it? Can I bypass it, or do I run new wires all the way from the new radio?

Thanks in advance.

Kevin

i am not to sure what the problem is but it sort of sounds like some of you wire may me pinced. i put the same type on unit in my 2000 ga se and i had no problems. i didn't think that a ga had a factory amp.

Yep...there is an amp. Just found it. THere was an amp in the trunk on the drivers side behind the cloth. Removed it and spliced the in's and out's and the system sounds good. No more humming. I had the 2000 GA GT. Thanks for the response though.
