I just a system installed that consist of a 1000Watt Kenwood Amp and 2 10 inch Kenwood subs in a ported box. The problem is that my subs seem to flutter with certain songs. Its just with songs that aren't really suppose to have alot of bass. The subs cut in when the volume is low and rumble like its up on max. Would this be cause by my stock head unit or something else?

Sounds like a bad ground to me... But, I'm no expert on weird stuff like that, so hopefully an expert can answer this question for you! :)

Yes, check the ground wire. I had a tech school instal my first system, and let me tell you, ill never do that again. Well anyways after about a week of playing the song YEAH with usher and little jon, IT caused the screw holding down my ground wire to come loose. That caused fluttering, and having my whole system shut down....

Could be a few different things....How old is your head unit? If its a brand new one I would say it might be the ground wire or if the songs you are playing have a higher frequency bass and your trying to get the most out of them, they will sound distorted. I would go back to the roots and trace the wires starting with the ground. If your ground wire is making a connection lets say on the firewall and the wall has paint on it, sand the paint off to make a better connection. If all else fails, replace your RCA cables because they may be faulty....goodluck
