After learning that the cut out would not improve much in the car's gains.....(stock everything but CAI)... and sound wouldn't be nice, i decided on running a single exhaust.

I came up with magnaflow and dynomax. I like the free flowing straight through design ones like Ultra Flo™ SS Muffler, Ultra Flo™ Welded Muffler from DYNOMAX, and from MAGNAFLOW the street series with dual tips from magnaflow part 14830 or 14815

i know similar threads have been posted before but i can't decide on which is best. Is there anyone that has a single system with either of these.? i would take in account the sound and if any performance gains

also price!!!

I personally am looking into the Dynomax Super Turbo muffler. Dual in-single out. I've heard clips, it sounds great. Not sure about any gains, but that's not my personal need right now.

I just bought a magnaflow SS muffler with tips 14803??? i believe. Anyway it is the dual tip DTM style. I am welding it up today, I'll let you know how it sounds, but it is on an ecotec not a 3400. My buddy has SLP on the 3400, it sounds great, just a little pricey.

I used the 14801 Magnaflow on mine with a 4" round for a resonator. You can ask the people that were at Albany this summer about how good it sounds. Not too loud but very deep under normal driving conditions, but it get's pretty loud at WOT. You can take a look at my cardomain to see how it looks.

According to the Car Doctor (Joe D'Amato) one of the tricks to a deeper, more mellow sound is to ensure you use a larger, rather than smaller, muffler. So in the case of car sound, size matters. Something to consider as well.

Grandamn.....I have to ask.....did he have a clue you were racing? And what was the distance you raced? By 2 (TWO!?!?) car lengths? With an Ecotech and a muffler?

I have Magnaflow muffler and high flow cat and love the sound and performance I picked up with both of them.

is this stuff stock piping and different muffler, or new pipes and mufflers?

I'd like a dual-outlet muffler (I think a Camaro/Firebird muffler would work; just flip it around since the exhaust pipe is on the pass side in those) probably dynomax super turbo, and replace factory resonator with a '69 Camaro Z/28 style rssonator. They used the resonators on the berger Camaros.

click on photo gallery. The burnout movie is nice, but a tad small.

thanks for the opinions... i am a bit low in cash and i just want something that i can feel i am still wondering about a DHP chip/computer or something else thats worth and probably will show better gains than a muffler
