I have two AW1206T subs at 1100RMS which together make 2200RMS... i went to have someone install my subs and amp today and he said that my MTX 1500D amp would blow the two speakers....is that true, if so what other amp should i get?

Well, is he a proffesional installer? If so, then he's probably right.

Don't know for sure, but if he thinks they will I will happily take that off your hands and purchase it from you.

He might have the old and better version amps from MTX. They used to have a 1500D and a 2000D that were freaking HUGE amps and kicked some major ass. But, on to the question at hand. I see no reason why you would do anything bad to your subs. If they're rated at 1100 RMS each (not their max power handling, the actual RMS) then there's no reason you should blow your subs. Yes, you would be underpowering them a little bit, but don't worry about that. Just keep your gains down and use your deck (if it has sub control) to control the amount of bass your subs are using.
