You guys think that if i were to put 6x9's in the rear door and cut a hole in the door pannel if 1. they would fit and 2. would the door pannel be enough to support the weight of the speaker? Just wondering what u guys thought

i dont see why not.. but actually as for a sound gain .. you wont gain a thing maybe 5 % loudness and SQ ... only people in the back would hear it... would more benaficial if you either just got better speakers or a small amp.. adding those wont help out anything .. and plus your wiring would have to change for everything

i was going to do it to emily's car at one time just to be different, but i didn't get the components at the price i was supposed to, so i didn't.
but yeah, they should fit and the door panel should be rigid enough to support the weight

I'll agree with doobiess though. I think you'd be better off buying a small amp and/or better speakers, unless you're going for originality like matts was going to attempt.

Im not worried about the wiring cause re-doin my hole sound system ill have to re wire everything anyway, but u really dont think it would be that much of a gain? I was gonna have the two sets of 6x9's amped

I think i'd just amp the existing rear speakers, i've added extra 6x9's before to my 86 monte carlo. Doesn't help anything much, more for bragging rights on a custom job

i assume you know but when your stereo is going and from the drivers seat.. its not like you hear most of the sound from the rears... its the fronts.. they are the most vital in the sound of the car.. if you want something good invest in a good set of fronts... invest in the fronts not the rears... but if your looking for bass and arent having subs well maybe rears is more for you.. but if you have subs... your rear 6x9's dont put out that much of the sound you hear

My Front door is very heavily invested in. I have 6.5's in there with a teewter an its about to get amped sometime this winter. I just thought the 6x9's would be a nice touch in the door never really seen it before and i also thought there would be more gains but i guess not

well your gains are minimal... and for the time and money it isnt worth it unless your doing it for show.. but remember if you do you know have 6 speakers to power.. and not just the regular 4 channels.. so you either need 2 amps or your you would have to bridge the amp.. and well basically wasting your time... if you want louder.. get an amp.. it will do wonders... just wait and see
