I feel like the black sheep. Where do all the Ecotec Grand Am owners go? Eng Specific only has a handful and now one goes in there. Jbody.org or ecotecforum.com or nbody.net i always feel like the little boy trying to jump over everyones shoulders to take a peek. where can i find a whole lot of ga owners with ecotecs where i can run through the fields free with my fellow black sheeps? any one know?:lol:

Hehehe here is as best as any man. Ive looked for a good place to learn about cars and this is where I found it. I do understand what your talking about. But you have to realise that most with the 2.2L gain most of thier knowledge on other boards simply because its found in many other cars. Like take the 3400 engine. Pretty much, its in the ga and the aztec, just those. The 2.2 is found in many j-bodys which means, the guys who know the most about that engine, are in j-body forums. Its all about who you know and how many people on here have modded and worked with the 2.2L. There just isnt that many people with that much knowledge. But take a look at the 3100 or 3400 and you will find many that have done many upgrades to them, thus, your going to be able to learn more from them

thanks for the reply. just sucks having to take little bits and pieces from a bunch of diff websites and putting it together. i actually just talked to a bunch of other ecotec'ers about a $200 intake that i was going to buy and i would have been pissed. Try owning and modifying a '1st gen Saturn SC2. I had a '93 that burned oil (those engines have POS piston rings, otherwise good design) and would beat most any 4-banger at my school back in the day (last year), and v6 Camrys all over the place. But just like AMCs, Saturns are black sheep. They even have a place called black sheep racing that mods their cylinder heads.

So, don't feel alone.:) Those little black sheep (Saturn, AMC, ECOTEC GA) are a small but loyal and tight group.

Go to rksport and get cavi stuff and custom mod stuff from there. you can get pistons, rods, turbo, cam, intake, headers what ever you want for that engine
