Hey-

Just wondering what everyone's opinion on Headlight Blackout covers are.

I saw one on a silver GT when I was in Green Bay, Wisconsin and I really liked how they looked, but I've never seen them for sale.

Also, what are the laws, generally speaking, surrounding headlight blackouts?

Well, I have them on my silver GA and they rock. They're illegal where I live but I don't get hassled for them at all They're on all the time except for when I have a long distance to go at night...

Where did you get your blackouts from? Are they easy to install?

I got them from someone on here that was selling 'em, I forgot who. They're not the crappy velcro ones. They're the ones that you have to pop the hood, then put them on, the jucst close the hood. It takes all of 2 seconds to put them on or take them off...literally. I think the good ones, like I have are made by GTS but mine doesn'thave any markings on them to tell exactly.

Search online, or I'm sure that Autozone can order them for you... That's where I got them for my old Alero.

I got mine at pepboys.com. They dramatically changed the front of my car.

I have a 97, so I have front and rear blacked out lights.

Word of warning though, they REALLY cut down the light at night. I don't mind...my old 94 Cav's lights were about as bright as that, but it's defiantly a noticeable change.

IIRC, they're illegal everywhere, but nobody should give you a problem about them. Mine are on 24/7 and i've never had a problem.

I got the GTS ones.

I drive around Lansing Mi with my black outs on, and with my fogs on.... I see fine. However, when I am driving outside of Lansing (out to the boonies) I take my black outs off so I have more than enough light from my silverstars and my hella optilux fogs to see anything in front of me for a ways....... I also have my drl's killed, so I can turn on my fogs whenever I like.

For my personal taste, I like the blackouts on light colored cars (white, silver, red, etc.) But, for instance, I have a black car and I think it would be too much darkness. With black, I like how the silver in the headlights breaks up the black and sets it off. I do plan on one day getting the vinyl for the amber to cover it up.

i have the gts carbon fiber ones, and they look nice during the day, and you can see a little better at night with them than the all black ones....

How do they look with a full bra on the car? Im ordering the 2 piece bra so it goes around my headlights, fogs and license plate, and im thinkin they would look pretty sweet with the bra. Anyone seen the look before? I have an arctice white 97
