I'm not really sure if I want the rear window tinted or not. I think it will make it harder to see the blind spot on the passenger side. Will it look dumb with just the sides done?

Also, anyone have problems tinting the top of the back window over the dots? I am planning on getting it done at a reputable place, but if it will be noticable I would rather not get it done.

I would tint the back if I were you. It would look kind of weird if you didn't have it tinted. How dark are you going with the tint. You won't have ANY problems seeing out during the day even if you went with 5%. Night time becomes a little tricky though if you have a darker tint. I like it though, cuts down the glare from the sun/other cars.

The back is a must, dark as you can get it.
You can either tint over the dots, which dont look to bad if they take the time to work it all in. Or you can spray tint over the dots and tint the rest but that hard to match. There is also a cover that covers up the dot area which looks kind of cool from the picts I saw but have never seen one up close. But no matter what you do tint that back window.

I'm probably just going to go for a 35% on the sides and maybe 20% or 35% on the back. Actually its the daytime driving that worries me the most, at night usually everyone has their lights on so you can see them pretty easily. An overcast day would be the worst. No sun but not dark enough for people to switch on their lights.

I didn't tint the rear on my G/F's car and it didn't look to bad, but hers is a 4 door with only the rear doors tinted and I used a silver color so it didn't stand out as much. Actually I am going to have to pull that tint out pretty soon, its starting to look pretty faded.

What do you guys think of LLumar film? Anyone have god/bad experiances with it?

I have LLUmar 35% all around. I got my windows tinted at Eclipse Window Tint on Stoughton Road down in Madison. They do great work. I have Artic Charcoal on mine and I love it. I use to have stealth on my old 2000 GT but I deicded to try charcoal the next time around:D

I have my back windshield and my back windows tinted on my four door GT...it was done by the other owners before me but it's just one less thing I have to do...

I need to do the front windows (side) now, though.

Do it, I haven't had any problems yet.

I'm definitely going to be tinting the back window. I think the back and the 2 side back windows will be 5%, and im still undecided on what to get fort the front side windows. I'm always thinking 35% is too light, but thats why i wouldnt mind getting a pic of 35% if possible ;)

GTLUVA, thats exactly where I was going to get my tint done, seems to be the best place in town. How do the dots look on your back window? Thats about the only thing I am worried about now.

You can still see a little blemish over the dots its noticable in some spots and in other spots its not the noticable. Err I wish I had a close up pic of my back window but I don't:P But otherwise I still love the tint and it doesn't lose its color.:)

35% is too light in my opinion. If you want a good looking tint that doesn't hurt visibility, then go with 20%. I have 5% and i love it being that dark. But one of my buddies has 20% and it looks good. Also, try to stick with one type of tint all the way around if you can. Even if that means going lighter.

Tint the rear, it would look funny w/o.....also, my car is 35% all around, you can see pix on car domain, which were taken on an overcast day.

I have a 4 door and I have rear sides and back tinted 35%. I think they look good. Have no trouble seeing at night. The day they tinted mine, they had trouble with my dots, but I took my car back 2 days later and they took care of it pretty good.

BTW, I have Madico tint w/ lifetime warranty. Also, the tint wouldn't stick to the dots, so after a week, I went back and they put a black vinyl over them (on the inside), and it looks great.

Llumar makes awesome film IMO. it's all i'll use. i've got their platinum line on 3 of 4 vehicles and their high performance on 1. 35% is pretty light if you're using black film, but it's a little better with the reflective stuff because of the extra reflection you get. the bad thing about the tint i've got is 18% is as dark as they make it (when i got it done anyway). so in order to make mine darker i had an extra layer of high performance (black dyed stuff) to the rear window. i love it.......you can stick your nose to the window and still not see in.

if the installer knows what they're doing the dots shouldn't be a problem.

The only real problems you will have with tint on the rear window are:
backing up at night (esp. in the country)
inability to see behind you well when driving east at dusk/west at dawn
Overcast days are not a problem.
I have 5% right now and no problems driving at all. On my last car I think I had 20% and that was good to get used to having tint for the first time. Although, by the time I got this new car I definately wanted the darker stuff... I'd advise getting 5% right off if you like it more, you'll get used to it soon enough.
