My wife’s long fingernails have chipped the plastic coating on the radio control paddles on my ‘99GASE2. So now the interior light bulbs are visible. Is it possible for me to replace the paddles myself, or is this really a dealer job? I am concerned about taking apart the steering wheel because of the air-bag, big money if it goes off.

Can't you just disconnect the battery and be fine?

Big pain if it goes off too! Especially if you've got a screwdriver or any other tool in your hand at the time. But not to worry, just disconnect your battery first.
