My stepdad had a 2002 cavy z24 and he had the unorthodox alternator pulley for it then he got rid of the car but kept the pulley and header so what i am wondering is will the pulley fit and what mods need done to the header to make it work? Thanx in advance.....peace:cool:

The pulley will work but the header wont fit.

unorthodox racing doesnt make an alternator pulley, they make a crank pulley, maybe your talking about that, AEM makes the alternator pulley. The header can be made to fit (i know someone whos done it) you have to cut and reweld the pipes and collector, but you have to understand his header was made for a 2.4 without an EGR, your 97 has an EGR, so you would have problems there.

urweak.....did you already get one of the EGR simulators? thats the easy fix...i got it for when i tried to put my HO mani on...still works good even tho the mani didnt...lol

no i havent had the time or money to bother. The only problem i heard about them is a strang bogging when the motor is cold. This kinda turned me off the idea, but im sure come emmisions time ill have to get one, or find someone to let me slide.

not really....works fine for me....maybe yours sucks? or some friend you know didnt hook it up right...or you based your opinion on an online review....but i know personally that it doesnt suck at all....no egr in the way and no problems or no cel....you are right it does suck :roll2:

well me and friend had it on our car and it acutally made both are cars slower, yeah it gets rid of the cel but it hurt drivability every time i drove my car it would boug and die half the time, and it was hooked up right

well i've never bogged or died out from the egr sim....with both pulleys on, my car will stall out occassionally when i first start it up and then ride it with the clutch in unless i keep it reved to 1k or a lil over....and there was deff no power loss....could be that my engine came from an 00 sunfire (since they dont use the EGR) after my old one died....who knows

Wait, your running a 00 2.4 with an EGR simulator on it? B/c you dont need that EGR sim then.

I dont understand that, isnt the your 2.4 knock sensor different then the older 2.4 So how could you run a 96-98 computer on a 99+ motor?

you can do a number of things.. weld a nut on there so it can thread on being one of the solutions.

exactly....the knock sensor was an easy fix...we just tapped it tho
