Well, I've gone through my third rear speaker (2 fixed under my now expired warranty). I thought no problem, I'll get me some new ones at Best Buy. I went last night, picked out a modest set of Pioneers for 70 bucks and asked the stereo sections clerk if the dorky cover did come off so I could use the stock grill. He then asked what kind of car I had and when I told him I had a Monsoon he cringed and told me none of these speakers would sound good since the monsoon is a 2ohm system and all they carried was 4ohms. So now after searching the forum here, I haven't found what I was really wanting to know, which is without replacing any other components, ie the headunit or amp, and other then getting the same old Delco speaker again, what can I do? I'd really like to get those Pioneer 3 ways I saw. Just something on the next level, nothing fancy. Thanks.

If the monsoon is 2 ohms and the speakers are 4 ohms that is fine to run them. They simply won't see the same power that a 2 ohm speaker would. You just wouldn't want to run a 1 ohm speaker off the head unit because then the amp would get hot from too low of an ohm load. :)
