Cold Air Intake-Stock 93

when i first got my car i looked under the hood and found sumthing that looks like a cold air intake or sumthing like that.it was just hanging there....any ideas guys?

If its black plastic,its stock and its not a cold air intake. The plastic piece going down into the fender well is just another air resonator,took mine out when I got my AEM intake.Doesn't do anything but quiet the air coming in,in other words,restricts so the car stays quiet.

so if i take it out will the exhaust be louder or just the air coming in......reason why im asking is becuz my exhaust is loud but it can always be louder.

The pre-94 intakes routed a tube above the radiator. Decent stock setup, but its downfall was the tiny airbox and filter.

The intake doesn't really affect the exhaust sound, however it creates a sound of it's own that complements the exhaust tone well.
