My 99 GA GT
Beautiful car in and out.
However, under the hood ok most times but and anywhere close to the wheels bad.

In 2 years of extended warranty (thanks god) the problems I'ver had:

Pass side window motor blew.
ABS Wheel harness X 4 F@#$ing times.
Lighter fuse
Power Steering Hose

Warranty is up.
Now the problems are:

-Crunching sound coming from brakes. Mech's cannot pin point prob.

-R-F Hub Assembly.

Got it assesed and it will cost $500.

I have a mechanic who will do it. What is it that I need / is the part expensive and how much will the project cost ??

well, to take a shot in the dark. try taking the brakes apart and resanding/lubing it. and make sure the anti-squeal clip is in place

Consider it debated. The Midas tech is close but no cigar. The caliper slide bushings swell from rust developing between the bushing and the caliper slide holes. What happens is the bushing actually grips the slide very tightly. This will cause the crunching or groaning noise, also the pads will wear unevenly (thin at one end, thick at the other) or the outboard pad will wear more than the inner.
Most places opt to replace the caliper because its easier and quicker, and it bumps up the ticket (their commission).
This is my fix and I've been doing it for years. Remove the slides and bushings, using a wheel cylinder hone and penetrating fluid, run the hone in and out untill the hole is clean. Coat the inside of the hole with synthetic brake lube and install new bushings, lube the slide. Repeat on the rest of the calipers. It takes me about a half hour extra to do this (both sides).
